Las Plumas High School gunman in custody

Las Plumas High School, which is located in the Oroville Union High School District in California, went on lockdown today after a 17-year-old student with a gun took thirty students hostage in the band room. Shots were fired, but know one was injured.

The gunman released most of his hostage over the two hours he was barricaded in the band room. He kept two female students hostage until he surrendered. Around the time he released the two females, he fired the gun twice.

The gunman surrendered and police took him into custody. All schools near the area went on lock down. Parents of the hostages were held in the Nazarene Church down the road and were allowed to pick up their kids when the crisis ended.
