Beltran Speaks to Federal Investigators

Carlos Beltran recently talked to federal investigators about Dr. Anthony Galea, who has several criminal charges against him in Canada for selling an unauthorized drug called Actovegin.  Beltran visited the Canadian doctor last summer for an opinion on his bruised right knee.  In addition to the four charges against Galea in Canada, his assistant in the U.S. has been accused of possessing both HGH and another drug while crossing the border.

Beltran, who recommended Galea to Mets teammate Jose Reyes, maintains that he only saw the physician for an opinion on his knee and that he has “nothing to hide.”  He flatly denied the use of HGH.  Galea has also treated such athletes as Tiger Woods, Dara Torres, and several NFL players.
