Body of Chelsea King Believed to be Found in Rancho Bernardo Park

A body found in a park near San Diego is believed to be that of missing 17-year-old jogger Chelsea King. King disappeared last Thursday while jogging in Rancho Bernardo Community Park just east of Lake Hodges.

Remains of a girl were found in a shallow grave on the shoreline of Lake Hodges Tuesday afternoon. Authorities believe the body is that of King, an honor student of Poway High School.

John Albert Gardner III, a convicted sex offender, was arrested Sunday in King’s disappearances. Authorities found Gardner’s DNA in underwear belonging to King. He is scheduled for arraignment Wednesday on murder and rape charges.
