President Barack Obama Urges Congress to “Finish it Work” on Healthcare Reforms

President Barack Obama has urged Congress to “finish its work” on the U.S. healthcare debate, encouraging them to pass the reforms so that he could sign them into law.

Obama stressed the importance of moving forward on the healthcare reforms, telling Congress “At stake right now is not just our ability to solve this problem, but our ability to solve any problem.”

Right now Obama’s problem is getting his reforms past Republicans who still take exception with the costs proposed by the president. The latest version of the healthcare plan sits at $950 billion, a plan that would cover uninsured Americans and lower premiums.

Obama had been hoping for a resolution to the problem last Thursday when he met with Democrats and Republicans in a televised hearing yet that meeting produced little in the way of an agreement and the deadlock remained.
