Massive Wave Strikes Cruise Ship Off Coast of France, Two Killed

A massive wave struck a Cypriot-owned cruise ship off the coast of France on Wednesday, killing two people and injuring six.

 

According to reports a 26-foot wave slammed into the Louis Majesty as it sailed near the French port of Marseilles. The cruise ship had been sailing from Barcelona to Genoa when the incident occurred. A spokesman for the cruise ship owner, Louis Cruise Lines, said the vessel was struck by three large waves.

 

At the time of the wave strike there were 1,350 passengers and 580 crew members. The two victims have been identified as a German and an Italian man.
