Plane Crash in Congo Kills at least 30

In what has become an all too routine state of affairs for the aviation industry in the Democratic Republic of Congo at least 30 people were killed when an Antonov-26 plane departing from the Kinshasa International Airport crashed immediately after takeoff.

The Congolese Ministry of Information reported that all 22 people onboard the aircraft were killed and at least eight people on the ground were dead after the plane crashed into a house near a busy market in Kinshasa.

According to Aviation Safety Network there have been more than 24 plane crashes since last year in the Democratic Republic of Congo, the majority involving the Russian-made Antonov planes.
