Airport death of Carol Anne Gotbaum still investigated, surveillance video released

Police are still investigating the death of Carol Anne Gotbaum, who died in an airport holding cell. A surveillance video has been released and show’s Gotbaum running through the airport as she appeared to be yelling. The video then shows the 45-year-old resisting arrest.

Police handcuffed Gotbaum and forced her through the airport after she appears to have locked her legs and refused to walk. The video’s release comes on the heels of allegations fired at police by her husband, Noah Gotbaum, and family that claim she was manhandled by police.

According to police reports, Gotbaum’s husband called emergency teams before he knew of her death to warn them she was suicidal and suffered from depression.

Gotbaum was found dead in an airport holding cell. It appeared as though she was trying to free herself of the handcuffs, and in the process accidentally strangled herself with them. The case is still under investigation.
