Man Arrested in Armored Car Murders in Philadelphia

Police arrested a 36-year-old man and charged him with the murders of two armored car guards in Thursday’s robbery outside a Wachovia Bank branch in Philadelphia on Thursday.

Mustafa Ali is alleged to have shot and killed Joseph Alullo and William Widmaier, both retired police officers. Ali opened fire on the two guards while they were servicing an ATM near the Roosevelt Mall. Another guard who had been driving the armored car suffered injuries as well but they are not life-threatening.

Police picked up Ali on Friday for questioning and by Saturday they had charged him with two counts of murder, robbery, and other offenses related to the deadly shooting.
