Wisconsin Shootings Leave Seven Dead After Rampage at Homecoming Party

The small town of Crandon, Wisconsin was the scene of a shooting rampage launched by an off-duty sheriff’s deputy that left seven people dead, including the officer that instigated the attack.

Tyler Peterson, 20, shot and killed six young kids at a Crandon residence early Sunday morning in a jealous rage that involved a failed relationship with one of the victims.

According to a neighbor who awoke to the loud sounds of gunfire there were at least 15-20 shots fired and then the sound of a car speeding off.

Of the six victims three had been students at Crandon High School while the other three had graduated from the school over the past three years. It was not known if Peterson had been a graduated of Crandon High School but he was connected to at least one of the victims in the house.

Reports have indicated that Peterson was killed by a sniper’s bullet but Sheriff Keith Van Cleve would not say if police had been responsible for the shot.

The lone survivor of the attack, Charlie Neitzel, is now in serious condition at St. Joseph’s Hospital.
