Michael Devlin pleads guilty to kidnapping charges, receives life in prison

Michael Devlin pleaded guilty to kidnapping and one count of armed criminal action on Monday, and was sentenced to life in prison. The former pizza parlor manager held 13-year-old William “Ben” Ownby captive in his apartment and sexually abused him.

The 41-year-old abducted Ben in January as he was walking home from his school bus stop. Devlin also faces over 80 more counts in the abduction of Ben as well as 16-year-old Shawn Hornbeck. Hornbeck was kidnapped in 2002 and held by Devlin for more than 4 years.

Devlin reportedly plans to plead guilty to all charges against him. “He just doesn’t want to see anyone suffer any more than they have in this whole ordeal,” said Michael Kielty, Devlin’s lawyer.
