NBA Schedule Friday March 5: Kobe Bryant Looks to Get Lakers Back on Track, LeBron and Cavs at Home
The NBA schedule for Friday night features eleven games but looks to lack any real compelling showdown. While that may be true there is plenty on the line for several teams as Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers try to bounce back from a loss on Thursday, LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers look to extend their NBA-best record and the San Antonio Spurs and New Orleans Hornets face off in a Western Conference showdown.
LeBron has his Cavaliers on a five-game winning streak and will be looking to make it six when they host the Detroit Pistons. The Pistons have lost five straight and own just seven road victories this year while Cleveland has the best home record in the NBA at 26-4.
Kobe scored 39 points on Thursday night but his Lakers fell to the Miami Heat in South Florida. He’ll look to avoid a two game slide when LA heads into Charlotte to face the Bobcats who are still fighting for a playoff spot. While Los Angeles appears to have a comfortable lead in the Western Conference the Dallas Mavericks and Denver Nuggets are within striking distance and the Lakers would like nothing more than to secure home-court advantage come playoff time.
