American Music Awards Announce Nominees

The American Music Awards will take place on November 18, 2007 in California at the Nokia Center. Comedian Jimmy Kimmel is returning for his fourth time to host the Award ceremony.

For the first time in American Music Awards history winners will be determined by online voting.

Justin Timberlake, Beyonce, Daughtry and Linkin Park lead the ceremony with three nominations each. Justin Timberlake is nominated for Favorite Male Artist while his latest album FutureSex/LoveSounds is also nominated for Favorite Album in the Pop or Rock category as well as the Soul Rhythm/Blues category.

Beyonce was nominated in the Pop or Rock category for Female Artist and Best Female Artist and Favorite Album in Soul Rhythm/Blues.

In the country music category, nominees for Favorite Male Artist are Toby Keith, Tim McGraw, and Brad Paisley. Favorite Female artist nominees are Martina McBride, Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood.

Dick Clark started the American Music Awards (AMAs) in 1973.
