Lil Wayne’s Lawyer Says His Arrest Was Due To A Paper Mix Up

New Orleans rapper Lil Wayne was arrested Saturday following a performance in Boise, Idaho at the Qwest Arena.

The rapper was arrested on a felony fugitive charge connected to a 2006 arrest in Atlanta

on possessing a controlled substance.

Lil Wayne’s current lawyer Stacey Richman stated that Wayne was told from his former attorney that the case from 2006 was dismissed. Richman also states that “Wayne has not missed a court date or any professional obligation, that's why Wayne is so bankable."

A judge signed the order releasing Lil Wayne on $10,000 bond; he will remain free on bond until the district attorney decides how to proceed.
