House of Rapper T.I. Searched by Feds During BET Hip-Hop Awards
The home of rapper T.I. was searched by federal authorities Saturday afternoon while the rapper was at the BET Hip-Hop Awards.
The East Point, Ga. property was searched by agents from the ATF, the U.S. Marshals Service, the Fulton County
Sheriff's Department, DeKalb County Police and members of the Atlanta
Police Department.
ATF spokesperson Marc Jackson did not elaborate the reasons for the search nor if any arrests were made, but did confirm that the search started around 3pm.
Jackson said there is also a fugitive squad involved in the investigation.
T.I. was the co-winner of Saturday night's first award, sharing the "CD of the Year" Award with Common, who accepted on both's behalf.
T.I.'s publicist said the
rapper made an appearance at the Atlanta Civic Center earlier Saturday,
as rehearsals got under way, but he was nowhere to be found on the
pre-show red carpet as rumors swirled about his whereabouts.
