NBA Schedule Monday March 8: Dirk Nowitzki has Mavericks Looking for 12th Straight, Kobe Bryant and LA Lakers within Striking Distance
A week ago it looked like Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers had the number one seed wrapped up in the Western Conference but Hollywood may be sweating a bit now that the Dallas Mavericks have rattled off eleven straight wins to climb to within three games of the purple and gold, a squad that has dropped three straight.
Nowitzki can trim that to 2 ½ games on Monday night as the Mavs travel to take on the Minnesota Timberwolves. Dallas has one of the best road records in the NBA at 21-12 while the Timberwolves are a woeful 9-22 on their own court, only the New Jersey Nets are worse.
LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers will also be in action as they host the San Antonio Spurs who are now forced to go through the remainder of the regular season without Tony Parker. The Spurs guard broke his hand and could miss as many as six weeks. The Cavs own the NBA’s best record and sit five games up on Orlando for the best record in the Eastern Conference.
