Kanye West, Common, T.I and Lil Wayne BET Hip Hop Awards Winners
The 2nd annual BET Hip Hop Awards aired last night, October 17, 2007 on the BET network.
The award taping took place in
Comedian and rapper Katt Williams hosted the award ceremony, in addition to making a special appearance with Grand Hustle rappers, during T.I.’s award performance that was scheduled to take place with singer Wclef , but due to T.I’s arrest hours before the awards the rapper was absent.
Common performed his hit ‘Driving Me Wild’ along with Kanye West, who opened up the show with his hit single ‘Can’t Tell Me Nothing,’
Rap legend KRS-ONE received the ‘I AM HIP HOP’ Icon Award.
Lil Wayne also took an award home for “MVP of the year, while T.I. won two of the nine he was nominated for including, ‘Album of the year’ and ‘Best Ring tone’.
