Finding A Free Or Reduced-Cost Drug Treatment Program

Many times, a person in need of the services provided by a drug treatment program cannot afford the fees required by many private and some public drug treatment facilities. Free drug treatment, or at the very least, reduced-cost treatment, is available, however.

The fact that free or reduced-cost drug treatment is available can eliminate or greatly reduce the effectiveness of the person’s excuse that he cannot afford to seek help. Family members and loved ones can find the information regarding free drug treatment and present it to the addicted person. From there, however, it is a personal decision on that person’s part whether or not to take advantage of such facilities.

Many State-funded drug treatment facilities are either free or costs are set on a “sliding-fee” scale. The amount of one’s income determines how much one will pay for a drug treatment program. Treatment provided is on a level with most paid programs. However, with State-funded programs, there may be a long waiting list.

Faith-based organizations may offer free drug treatment. People of all faiths may be able to find a drug treatment program, including one that offers residential facilities where a person is away from any stimuli that may cause a relapse.

Some are free, while some offer reduced rates. Others allow residents to live there free until they are able to seek and obtain employment. After that, they may then require a small stipend to offset maintenance and operational costs

Other drug treatment facilities that are not government-funded or faith-based also provide a free drug treatment program or a reduced-cost program. Calling 1-866-923-1134 or logging on to http://www.drugtreatmentprogram.net/ , will connect those needed drug treatment to personnel who will help find an affordable program. Cost no longer has to be an issue in receiving help.
