The remains of former Cyprus President Tassos Papadopoulos have reportedly been found by police, three months after his body was removed from his grave by unknown assailants.
Police received a tip that the remains of Papadopoulos were dumped at a Nicosia cemetery and those remains are now undergoing DNA testing to determine if they were the remains of the former president.
Papadopoulos passed away in December 2008 having served as Cyprus’ president from 2003 thru February 2008. A memorial service was to be held for Papadopoulos in December 2009 but one day before the event it was discovered that his body had been removed from his grave.
While it has been said Papadopoulos had many enemies but police have yet to arrest any suspects in the case.
