Christopher Paul Neil, Suspected Pedophile, Nabbed by Thai Police

Christopher Paul Neil, the suspected pedophile who was the subject of a global manhunt, was picked up by Thai police on Friday.

The 32-year-old Neil, a Canadian citizen, became the target of a worldwide search after pictures surfaced on the internet depicting a man abusing underage boys. The pictures that appeared on the internet had the face of the abuser scrambled but German investigators were able to reverse the process and restore the image.

Authorities then distributed photographs of Neil to agencies throughout the world and appealed for information about the man. Within three days tips had indicated that the man in the photo was Neil.

Neil had been working as an English teacher in South Korea but flew to Bangkok last Thursday, allegedly in search of underage boys. Thai police secured an arrest warrant for Neil and by Friday he was arrested.

He is expected to be prosecuted in Thailand and then extradited to Canada.
