US stocks closed mixed on Monday following a major rally last week. Better than expected government statistics for the month of February pushed up markets on Friday but the excitement appeared have ended by opening Monday when a lack of new economic reports and international news failed to appear.
For the day. the Dow Jones Industrial Average slipped 13.68 points or 0.13 percent to close at 10,552.52 while the Nasdaq composite gained 5.86 points or 025 percent to 2,332.21. The Standard & Poor's 500 index fell by 0.19 points 0.02 percent to 1,138.50.
