Rex Ditto Pleads Guilty to Murder of ‘Curious George’ Creator Alan Shalleck

Rex Ditto pled guilty to the first-degree murder and robbery of Alan Shalleck, the co-creator of the children’s favorite, “Curious George.” Ditto entered the plea in a West Palm Beach, Florida courtroom on Thursday and will now spend the rest of his life in prison without possibility of parole.

According to the autopsy report, Shalleck’s body had more than three dozen stab wounds with a total of 83 blunt force injuries from the attack that took place in February 2006 on Super Bowl Sunday.

Ditto also agreed to testify against co-defendant Vincent Puglisi, his 56-year-old former lover who is scheduled to begin his trial early next year. Puglisi had been offered a life sentence had he pled guilty but turned the offer down.
