Shalleck wrote and directed more than 100 episode of the Curious George cartoon and helped Margret Rey, the creator, write a series of Curious George books.
As part of the deal Ditto pleaded guilty to first-degree murder and robbery with a weapon. He also agreed to testify against his co-defendant and former lover, Vincent Puglisi.
Ditto and Puglisi went to Shalleck’s home in February 2006 with the intention of robbing him. The ‘Curious George’ creator was killed by 83 blunt force injuries and more than 3 dozen stab wounds to the abdomen, neck and groin. After Shelleck was killed, Ditto and Puglisi stole jewelry and funds from his bank account.
“It was a horrible, horrible crime scene,” Gershman said.
Ditto is not eligible for parole and Judge Edward Garrison said, “You will die in prison.”
