Betty Casey pays $2.1 million for Rush Limbaugh letter

Betty Casey just agreed to pay $2.1 million to be the sole owner of the Rush Limbaugh letter. The $2.1 million she paid for the smear letter will be donated to the Marine Corps – Law Enforcement Foundation which helps the families of soldiers who are deployed.

The letter was sent to radio host Limbaugh’s boss by Senate Majority leader Harry Reid in regard to Limbaugh’s comment on United States soldiers. The Harry Reid letter was signed by 41 of his fellow Democrats and demanded Limbaugh be reprimanded for his “phony” soldier comment.

Limbaugh has denied he was referring to any of the United States soldiers serving in Iraq with the term ‘phony soldiers.’ On Friday, Limbaugh announced on-air that Reid’s letter was “an abuse of power against a private citizen.” He did agree to match whatever amount the letter sold for.
