Parker Avoids Surgery But is Set to Miss Six Weeks

On Saturday, Spurs guard Tony Parker fractured the fourth metacarpal in his right hand.  Luckily for San Antonio, Parker won’t need surgery and could possibly return for the playoffs.  However, he is slated to miss about six weeks, which head coach Greg Popovich interprets as “probably four to eight weeks.”  In his stead, Manu Ginobili will start and will probably play more minutes.  Nevertheless, the Spurs are reluctant to jeopardize the health of Ginobili or Duncan at this point in the season by playing them too many minutes.
