An early morning shooting at Ohio State University left
one employee dead and two others wounded. University police say the shooter,
who has not been identified, is in custody. No students were involved. Students
who signed up to be notified of situations on campus were alerted of the
shooting via e-mail.
University police Chief Paul Denton said the shooting occurred
around 3:30 a.m. Tuesday at the McCracken Power Plant building near Ohio Stadium.
The two wounded employees, one in critical condition, are
being treated in a nearby hospital.
The university said classes and work schedules will
continue “normal operations.”
No other details on the shooting were released.
