MLB News: Stephen Strasburg Impressive in Washington Nationals Debut

Stephen Strasburg took to the mound for the first time this spring and the hard-throwing righty gave the Washington Nationals plenty of hope as he tossed two scoreless innings against the Detroit Tigers while striking out two.

Strasburg, the overall number draft pick, started for the Nationals and featured a fastball that consistently clocked at 97-98 mph while including a breaking ball that stayed in the low 80s.

Of his 27 pitches on the day 15 of those were strikes but he threw first-pitch strikes to just two of the eight Tigers he faced.
