Gary Zerola, Boston attorney, arrested for rape of college student in Miami

The Boston-based defense attorney is accused of forcing Jheri Leigh Burch to take pills before sexually assaulting her. Burch and Zerola met at a Miami nightclub before going to the Catalina Hotel around 3:03 a.m. Burch reportedly got upset that Zerola brought another woman with them and checked into her own room.

Police said Zerola then attacked Burch, forced her to take the pills, and sexually assaulted her. Burch woke up lying beside Zerola and called police on her cell phone. Zerola told police he never had sex with the woman.

Zerola was booked in the Miami-Dade County jail and charged with sexual battery. He is also facing sexual assault charges in two other Massachusetts cases.

Zerola was known for his work for foster children and was once a candidate for the first season of the ABC hit ‘The Bachelor.’
