Stocks across all three major indexes posted modest gains on Tuesday, a year to the day after the start of the rebound was first declared. Positive reports on new jobs also helped markets close higher for the day. The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 11.86 points or 0.11 percent to finish at 10,564.38 after closing flat on Monday. The Nasdaq composite also made gains, up 8.47 points or 0.36 percent to 2,340.68. The Standard & Poor' 500 tacked on 1.94 points or 0.17 percent to 1,140.44.
