Study: Audio Conferencing Important in Heathcare Industries
Fourth of industry reports on audio, web, video conferencing shows users prefer face-to-face meetings
Northborough, MA October 30, 2007 - Brockmann & Company released its latest independent, self-funded report on the role of face-to-face meetings and audio, web and video conferencing in the conduct of business in the healthcare industries. The report, entitled "Conferencing in Healthcare " is available for a limited time for free download on www.brockmann.com.
Peter Brockmann, President and Research Director of Brockmann & Company said, "Only 36% of respondents consider conferencing very important to the success of their organization. This is the lowest score of any industry reviewed. Despite the promise of tele-medicine, the power of these technologies do not translate well into the broader industry because users are geographically tied to the scope of their enterprise. Collaborations tend to concentrate locally and not regionally or nationally."
After face-to-face meetings, audio conferencing was next most important to the job performance of respondents from the healthcare industries. This report is the fourth in a series on the adoption, practices and insights within various industry groupings.
