Christina Butler, Tampa High School Teacher, Arrested for Sexual Relationship with Student

Christina Butler, a 9^th grade teacher at Tampa’s Middleton High School, was arrested on Tuesday after admitting to having a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old student.

Butler, 33, was arrested after police pulled over a group of teenagers driving a Jeep Cherokee that belonged to the teacher. The driver of the Cherokee told the police officer that he did not have his license but that Butler had allowed him to drive the vehicle.

At that point a passenger in the car told the officer that the driver and Butler had been involved in a relationship. Butler was called down to the scene and told police that her relationship with the teen was just a friendship. She later confessed to police that she was having a sexual relationship with the boy.

Butler is currently out of jail, free on $7,500 bond.
