Two Burned Bodies Discovered in Aftermath of Poway Fire

With the Southern California fires beginning to subside, the grisly task of searching the destroyed areas has begun and the discovery of two burned bodies in a Poway home became a grim reminder to rescue workers that they may be in store for a large scale recovery mission.

While medical examiners have not released the cause of death for the two victims, they are believed to have died in the Poway fire that ravaged the San Diego County city just north of San Diego.

Calmer winds and a drop in temperature have assisted firefighters in battling the multiple blazes that have scorched Southern California since Sunday morning. With the Santa Ana winds dying down, water planes and helicopters have been utilized as a method of containment.
