Ocean Isle Beach Blaze Kills Seven College Students

Seven college students were killed in a beach house blaze in Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina on Sunday morning.

It is believed that six of the seven killed attended the University of South Carolina and were members of the Delta Delta Delta sorority and the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. The other student killed attended Clemson University.

According to witnesses, the fire broke out shortly before 7:00 a.m. Six USC students managed to escape the house before it became fully engulfed prior to firefighters arriving.

Ocean Isle Beach is located on the southern coast of North Carolina and is a popular spot for weekend vacationers, especially students from nearby colleges.
