Woman Using Craigslist Was Found in Trunk of Car

A woman who answered a Craigslist.com ad for being a nanny was found dead in her trunk in Duluth, MN. 24-year old Katherine Ann Olson was answering an online wanted-ad for nannying services in the suburb of Savage.

She left to see about the job Thursday morning, which was the last time her friends saw her. She was found in the trunk of her car in a parking lot. Her purse and a blood-soaked towel were found in a trash can not far away.

Police say they have a 19-year old male suspect in custody awaiting formal charges for the murder, but are not releasing many details about how she was killed. They are also unsure of a motive at this time.

Craigslist.com’s owner Craig Newmark said that he believes that Olson's death is the first killing ever linked to the website.

Newmark says Craigslist works closely with authorities to investigate crimes tied to the website. Those crimes include identity theft cases, scams, robberies and sex crimes.
