Porter Wagoner Dies from Lung Cancer

Country legend Porter Wagoner died on October 28, 2007 from lung cancer in Nashville, Tennessee.

 

The country singer is also known for his own syndicated television show, "The Porter Wagoner Show," which was on TV for a total of 21 years.

 

Porter is also noted as one of the individuals who helped launch the career of country singer Dolly Parton who is known for her hit song ‘ I will always love you’ which was later re-recorded by Whitney Houston.

 

Some of Porter Wagoner’s hits include, ‘Carroll County Accident’  ‘A Satisfied Mind,’ ‘Company's Comin', ‘Misery Loves Company’ and ‘Green Green Grass of Home’.

 

Wagoner's final album entitled ‘Wagonmaster’ was released in June 2007.
