The names of the seven victims who died in the house fire in Ocean Isle Beach, NC were released Tuesday. Six of the victims were students at the University of South Carolina, while one was a student at Clemson University.
The six victims from South Carolina are Lauren Mahon, Cassidy Pendley and William Rhea, all were 18-year old freshmen. 19 year-old sophomores Justin Anderson and Allison Walden were also killed, along with 20 year-old Travis Cale.
Emily Yelton, a sophomore, was identified as the student from Clemson who died in the fire.
Mahon, Pendley and Walden were members of Delta Delta Delta sorority, and Anderson and Cale were members of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. Yelton was a Delta Zeta sorority member from Clemson University. No fraternity affiliation has been listed for Rhea, a USC freshman.
All of the victims were from South Carolina, except for Walden, who is from Chagrin Falls, OH.
