College Basketball Big East Tournament Semifinals Schedule: Georgetown to Face Marquette, Notre Dame and West Virginia Battle

The Big East conference tournament was flipped upside down on Thursday as three of the top four seeds- Syracuse, Villanova and Pittsburgh, were handed losses while West Virginia snuck past Cincinnati on a last second three-pointer to survive.

That West Virginia squad will be facing perhaps the hottest team in the Big East in Notre Dame on Friday night at 9:00 p.m. ET. The Irish have won six straight to lock up a ticket to the NCAA tournament and now have their eyes on a Big East tournament title. In their only matchup with the Mountaineers this year the Irish won 70-68.

In the Big East’s first semifinal game scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET the Georgetown Hoyas will be facing the Marquette Golden Eagles. The Hoyas stunned the number one seed Syracuse Orange on Thursday while the Golden Eagles handed Villanova a surprising loss. Marquette beat Georgetown by three points earlier this year.
