Lindsey Vonn Makes History

Lindsey Vonn has done it again. With her amazing success at the 2010 Winter Olympics still fresh in our memories, Vonn has made history again. Earlier today, Vonn won the World Cup women’s overall title and became the first American woman ever to win the tournament three consecutive times (in fact, she is the only American woman to have won the event twice in a row and twice at all). But that’s not all. With 33 World Cup individual victories, she now holds the all-time American record for most World Cup wins. After the victory, Vonn said "I gave it all I had. I have nothing more… I am the most successful American ever, and I am very, very happy." In February, Vonn made history in Vancouver when she became the first American woman to win an Olympic Gold medal in the downhill event. She will surely go down in sports history as one of the best American women skiers ever, if not the best.
