Obagi Medical Products, (NASDAQ:OMPI) which makes prescription-strength and over-the-counter skin creams, said Thursday its fourth-quarter profit doubled on stronger sales and lower costs. The company earned $4.8 million, or 22 cents per share, up from $2.2 million, or 10 cents per share, during the same period a year prior. Sales rose 21 percent to $30.7 million from $25.4 million

The company's Nu-Derm System includes prescription and over-the-counter treatments for wrinkles, acne, and other skin conditions. Sales of Nu-Derm rose 18 percent to $17 million. Meanwhile, operating expenses fell 7 percent to $16.3 million. They also expect first-quarter profit between 8 and 9 cents per share on revenue between $23.5 million and $24.5 million. It expects full-year profit of between 67 cents and 71 cents per share on revenue between $108 million and $112 million.
