Over 40 years ago, legendary NFL coach Vince Lombardi made a speech, and that speech is now at the center of a legal battle between the Nike company and Vince Lombardi’s family. After signing a contract, which included a $150,000 advance, to license the words and the audio of a speech that Lombardi once made, Nike discovered that no known audio of the speech exists, and now they want their money back. Apparently, the Nike representative who signed the deal did not pay enough attention when he signed the contract, because the advance is allegedly nonrefundable. In any case, the legal battle that is going on now will unfortunately go down in Vince Lombardi history. But it can never ruin his amazing legacy.
