Frank Lucas, who is being portrayed by Denzel Washington in the upcoming movie "American Gangster", was featured on BET Wednesday night.
Lucas was the focal point on the weekly show "American Gangster", which gives the story of some of America's most notorious criminals.
The 77-year old was giving first-hand accounts to his life of crime, while the narrator filled in the blanks. He spoke about his rise to being at the pinnacle of the drug game in Harlem after working 15 years for Bumpy Johnson, who was portrayed by Laurence Fishburne in the movie "Hoodlum".
Many people were also interviewed, including Washington and Richie Roberts, who is played by Russell Crowe in the movie.
Lucas was one of America's biggest heroin dealers in the 1970s.
Throughout the show, commercials for the movie and rapper Jay-Z's new album, also with the same name, were featured.
The movie comes out in theaters Friday. The album will be released Tuesday, November 6.
