Nigerian Plane Taking Part in Rescue Exercise Crashes

A Nigerian plane that was to take part in a rescue exercise skidded off the runway in Port Harcourt and crashed but caused only minor injuries to the dozens of officials aboard the craft.

The plane was being used to test disaster response operations when it landed at the international airport in the oil city and skidded out of control.

A staff of emergency workers preparing for the test operation was forced to deal with a real emergency as they tended to the injured but fortunately no loss of life was involved.
