College Basketball Scores: Vermont Holds Off Boston University to Dance in NCAA Tournament

The Vermont Catamounts are back in the NCAA tournament for the first time since 2005 after holding off the Boston University Terriers 83-70 for the America East conference tournament title on Saturday.

Vermont controlled most of the game, holding a solid 42-31 lead at the half but the Terriers fought back in the second half and after Jake O'Brien hit a three-pointer and Corey Lowe followed with a triple Boston U had pulled to within 54-53 with ten minutes left.

Unfortunately for the Terriers the next five minutes they failed to score a point as the Catamounts ran off seven straight to build a 61-53 advantage and they never looked back.

Marqus Blakely was simply dominant for Vermont as he scored 24 points and grabbed 18 rebounds while Nick Vier added 15 points including a 4-4 performance from beyond the three-point line.
