Kelsey Peterson and 13-Year-Old Student Cross into Mexico, Continue to Elude Police

According to a Lexington, Neb. Police investigator, the car owned by Kelsey Peterson, a 25-year-old teacher accused of having an intimate relationship with a 13-year-old student, was spotted crossing into Mexico on Tuesday.

On Monday a judge issued a warrant for Peterson’s arrest, charging her with child abuse and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Police believe she is still traveling with the 13-yaer-old student with whom she shared a relationship.

Peterson was put on administrative leave by Lexington Middle School last week after the relationship was discovered.

Both Peterson and the teen-aged boy were reported missing on Saturday and authorities announced a national search for the pair. On Tuesday Peterson’s white Pontiac was spotted crossing the California border into Mexico.
