News Anchor Charmaine Dragun commits suicide

 Australian news anchor Charmaine Dragun committed suicide on Friday just before she was due to read the news for Channel 10 at 5 p.m. Dragun plunged to her death by jumping from The Gap in Sydney’s eastern suburbs.

Dragun was undergoing treatment for depression and had recently changed medication. Her death is being treated as a suicide as several witnesses say they seen a woman on the cliff.

The 29-year-old was survived by her longtime partner Simon. “Charmaine was a highly intelligent, vibrant and caring person, universally liked and admired by colleagues. Our deepest sympathies go to her partner, Simon, and her family,” said the CEO of Network 10, Grant Blackly.
