Fortified Holdings Corp. (OTCBB: FFDH)
Nov. 1st, 2007-- Fortified Holdings Corp. (OTCBB: FFDH) ("Fortified" or the "Company") is pleased to announce that it has teamed up with Microsoft Corporation and 3Sharp of Redmond, WA to develop a

unique application which runs on Fortified DataCom's NOMAD Incident Command Platform(TM) and allows first responders and humanitarian workers to streamline emergency shelter registration processes.

(Watch the video by visiting: http://www.fortifieddatacom.com/products.asp).

The initiative is spearheaded by Microsoft and originated as a test case using the Open XML format based on a Microsoft(R) Office Word 2007 form that contains embedded elements of the Microsoft

Office InfoPath(R) 2007 information-gathering program. The project is aimed at assisting humanitarian agencies in their ability to register and process displaced persons at emergency shelter

locations during times of crisis.

Organizations that have shown a distinct need and interest in improving their systems include the American Red Cross and the Federal Emergency Management Agency. In the wake of Hurricane Katrina,

the Red Cross recognized the opportunity; "We set up shelters in conjunction with other organizations that had to house as many as 35,000 people," stated Malcolm Welch, Senior Director of

Innovations for the Red Cross. "In those cases, we had very, very long lines, because we had to collect basic information about the individuals to bring them into the shelter. Crates of data came

back to a central repository where we retyped all of the forms." The process took weeks to complete, so some of the information was no longer relevant and thus not useful by the time it was in the

system.

It has been proposed that a technology solution provided by Microsoft, 3Sharp, and Fortified Holdings' recent acquisition, Z5 Technologies could provide a highly effective solution. The concept is

designed to automate forms and upload information in a way that is easy to use and fast to deploy. The distinctive solution uses Open XML Formats to capture registrant information because Open XML

is expected to make it easy for users to change forms as needed and extract data from the forms. The solution relies on the Nomad Incident Command Platform provided by Fortified, which is a rapidly

deployable, portable, battery operated system that can link widely dispersed multiple users on-site in an emergency location to multiple remote locations via an onboard satellite terminal

guaranteeing effective communication and data transfer capability anywhere in the world.

The solution is expected to be easy to use with minimal training and optimal user comfort and anticipates the flexibility to easily create and change documents as circumstances require, without

having to retool the whole solution.

About Fortified Holdings Corp.:
Fortified Holdings Corp. aims to become a diversified internationally focused holding company with a portfolio of dynamic and rapidly expanding industry leading subsidiaries servicing the needs of

first responders, the military, relief organizations, high-risk industries and similar sectors. It completed the acquisition of its first such business, Z5 Technologies, in September 2007. The

proposed business units and the portfolio companies within them will all share a common goal of designing, developing, manufacturing and globally marketing products and solutions designed to

enhance the ability of personnel in this sector to collaborate, to provide improved security services, and to respond to individuals and communities in need at times of crisis.

USA Technologies (NASDAQ: USAT)

Nov 05, 2007-- USA Technologies (NASDAQ:USAT) has been issued a patent for the VM2iQ, a key technology in the EnergyMiser(TM) energy conservation product line that targets the nation's four million

vending machines and $46 billion vending industry.

The Company announced today that the US Patents and Trademark Office had issued patent number 7,286,907 for Method and Apparatus for Conserving Power Consumed by a Refrigerated Appliance Utilizing

Audio Signal Detection

"The patent protects strategic technology in the VM2iQ which is installed inside a vending machine and switches the cooling system in and out of energy savings mode by monitoring vending machine

sales," said Dan van der Hoop, Vice President, Engineering, USA Technologies. "The intelligent technology in the VM2iQ can save vending machine operators up to 35 percent annually in utility

costs."

The VM2iQ is the second generation of the VendingMiser which is installed internally, operates on audio signals, and switches the cooling system in and out of energy savings mode by monitoring

vending machine sales.

The VM2iQ has already been installed in tens of thousands of vending machines, including 20,000 machines operated by one of the world's biggest retail chains, and 10,000 machines operated by a

major American supermarket chain.

The latest patent is the 12th USA Technologies energy patent protecting the Company's expanding portfolio of EnergyMiser energy management technology that lowers the energy consumed in vending

machines, coolers, snack machines and commercial appliances. It brings to 69 the total number of patents issued to USA Technologies, which includes the e-Port(R) cashless transaction technology,

e-Suds(TM) online laundry technology, and Business Express(R) 24x7 self-serve office center product line.

"The VM2iQ patent is among our most valuable, protecting a comprehensive range of intellectual property strategic to executing energy management technology for vending machines," said Mr. van der

Hoop. "It is a critical patent that responds to the growing demand in the US and the world for solutions to lower energy consumption, costs and C02 emissions."

Energy efficiency in vending machines is becoming a competitive weapon as operators pursue efficiencies and productivity improvements, while seeking ways to differentiate their vending machines to

secure contracts. USA Technologies' EnergyMiser is considered the only proven technology in the market that responds to the energy conservation demands of the vending industry.

The EnergyMiser product line is "plug-and-play" technology that begins saving power immediately, saves in excess of $100 per year per machine, pays for itself in about 12 months, and has a life

span of 12 years or more. Other benefits include reduced vending machine run time and lighting burn time, resulting in less wear and tear, extending the machine's life.

USA Technologies believes if the estimated four million refrigerated vending machines and 10 million glass door coolers in America were equipped with EnergyMisers, calculated at a conservative 35

percent savings, the approximate annual impact could be a:

-- Reduction of 15,330,000,000 in kilo watt hours

-- Savings of approximately $1,379,700,000

-- Reduction of 22,995,000,000 lbs of C02

-- Reduction of 7,000,000 tons of coal

-- Savings equivalent to powering 1,500,147 homes

-- Savings equivalent to eliminating 851,666 cars from the roadway

About USA Technologies:

other non-cash systems in the vending, commercial laundry, hospitality and digital imaging industries. The Company has marketing agreements with AT&T, Honeywell, Blackboard, MasterCard and others.
