Men’s AP Top 25 College Basketball Rankings Week 18: Kansas Jayhawks Unanimous #1, Kentucky Wildcats and Duke Blue Devils Follow
The Kansas Jayhawks are entering the NCAA tournament as the unanimous #1 in the AP Top 25 college basketball rankings, collecting all 65 votes for the Week 18 poll.
Kansas collected a Big 12 regular season title along with the Big 12 conference tournament title to pick up the number one seed in the upcoming NCAA tournament.
Kentucky is the only other school to match the Jayhawks record as both teams finished at 32-2 and the Wildcats also captured a regular season title and conference tournament title, edging Mississippi State in the SEC final for the crown. With that title under their belt Kentucky grabbed the #2 spot in the AP Top 25 college basketball rankings.
The Duke Blue Devils moved into the #3 spot this week after dropping the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in the ACC conference tournament finals. Duke joined Kansas, Kentucky and Syracuse as the number one seeds heading into the NCAA tournament.
Syracuse was able to secure a number one seed for the NCAA tournament despite falling in the quarterfinals of the Big East conference tournament. The Orange are still favorites to reach the Final Four of the NCAA tournament.
