Michael Mazza escapes from police after killing Deputy Paul Rein
Mazza, who was already serving two life sentences, is accused of shooting Rein, taking his gun, and escaping in the prisoner transport van. Police believe Mazza may have had an accomplice who ambushed Rein.
Mazza was later captured and police found Rein’s gun on him. Police are still investigating the incident.
