“This song has not only helped me, writing it, performing it every night has been kind of like therapy for me but I think it’s really helped a lot of people who might be going through similar circumstances,” Pickler previously said in an interview with ABC11.
Pickler began crying during her performance and had to speak the last word of the song. Malone says she was forced to leave her daughter behind because Kellie’s father was abusive.
“I knew God had to have a purpose for [Kellie] because there was too many times I would have miscarried because of all the hitting and beating on my stomach,” says Malone.
