Taylor Swift Beats Kellie Pickler for the CMA’s Horizon Award

The CMA’s Horizon Award for Brightest New Artist went to 17-year-old Taylor Swift at the 41st Annual Country Music Awards beating country singer Kellie Pickler, Jason Aldean, Little Big Town and Rodney Atkins.

In addition her Horizon Award nomination, Pickler performed her hit single “I Wonder” which is a song about her estranged mother, who abandoned her when she was only 2-years-old.

The former American Idol singer released her last album entitled “Small Town Girl” in

October 2006. The first single off of the album was "Red High Heels".
