Republican Presidential Candidate Rudy Giuliani has received an official endorsement from televangelist Pat Robertson, one of the nation's most influential Christian leaders. Giuliani is trying to receive more of a grasp on the conservative Christian movement and their support.
At the same time, Senator John McCain (R-Arizona), the one-time GOP presidential front-runner, got the support of Senator Sam Brownback (R-Kansas), a longtime ally of religious conservatives who last month removed himself from the Republican nomination.
Earlier this week, former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, a devout Mormon, received an endorsement from Moral Majority co-founder Paul Weyrich.
Robertson stated that he supports Giuliani due to his support of the war on terrorism. "To me, the overriding issue before the American people is the defense of our population from the blood lust of Islamic terrorists," exclaimed Robertson.
Robertson also said that he is willing to overlook Giuliani's support for abortion rights.
